AUGUSTA – Robert K. Hill, 65, of Amy Street, Poland and a longtime resident of Auburn died Monday, April 10, at the Maine Veterans’ Home.

He was born in Monmouth on Jan. 3, 1941, the son of Lester E. and Orrah M. (Libby) Hill Sr. He served his country in the U.S. Army from 1963 to 1966. He worked for 20 years at O’Brien Consolidated as a die tool maker.

Bob was a graduate of Edward Little High School, Class of 1959, where he was active in chorus and band.

He was a loving husband, father and friend.

He enjoyed trips to the ocean with his family and friends, also traveling to Canada and short trips with his wife, Pat whom he shared many good times with.

He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed camping, sailing, canoeing, fishing, golfing, and nature walks. Also carpentry and sewing, card games and board games which he was very good at, and his greatest weakness was chocolate.

He also enjoyed square dancing, dancing, music-whistling, spontaneous singing, and his trumpet.

He was a family man and enjoyed all of it especially his wife, children, grandchildren and friends. He will be sadly missed by all.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia (Morin) Hill of Poland, whom he married on Aug. 7, 1999; his daughter, Melissa Jalbert and her fiance, Billy Lamontagne, both of Auburn; his sons, Kevin Hill and his significant other, Melissa Hill and her daughter, Mindy, all of Rumford, Kirk Hill and his wife, Christine, of Raymond, Maurice Jalbert Jr. of Gray and Steven Eastman Sr. and his wife, Patty, of Auburn; his grandchildren, Quinn Hill, Steven Eastman Jr., Benjamin Eastman and Brenna Eastman; his sisters, Thelma Ridlon of Parsonsfield, Theo Parker of Auburn, Madeline Moates of Tenn. and Ruth Prescott and her husband, Phill, of Monmouth; his brother, Lester Hill Jr. and his wife, Phyllis, of Monmouth.

He was predeceased by his sisters, Marilyn Taylor and Charlotte Libby; and his brother, Frank Hill.
