Robert M. Cailler
1925 – 2010
AUBURN — Robert M. Cailler, 84, of Lewiston, went to be with his Lord on Thursday, March 11, at the Hospice House of Androscoggin following a lengthy illness.
He was born in Lewiston on Sept. 22, 1925, the son of Ronaldo and Gertrude (Ouellette) Cailler, and had been a resident of this community all of his life.
He was a graduate of Lewiston High School, Class of 1944. He was employed as a salesman for Slade’s of Boston, Mass., for many years and Flock Buick of Auburn until his retirement.
He was a member of St. Mary’s and Saints Peter and Paul Church and Holy Name Society of St. Peter’s.
Robert enjoyed his home and the company of his grandchildren ?til his final days, due to the true dedication of his wife, whom was a primary caregiver until his passing.
He is survived by his wife, the former Carmen Dallaire, whom he married on July 4, 1950, of Lewiston; two sons, Robert Cailler and his wife, Bridget, of Litchfield and Richard Cailler and his wife, Lisa, of Poland; three grandchildren, Troy, Ethan and Taylor Cailler; one sister, Delores Bergeron of Lewiston; one brother, Ronaldo A. Cailler and his wife, Dorothy, of Poland; a brother-in-law, Alphee Grenier of Lewiston; and several nieces and nephews.
One sister, Janine Grenier; and his parents predeceased him.
The family wishes to thank Robert’s very special caregiver, Madeline Levesque, and the staff of 3 East at D’Youville Pavillion. Heartfelt appreciation to the dedicated medical and spiritual staff at the Hospice House for their compassionate and dignified care for Robert during his last days of life.
