Robin Dow Seniors to hold picnic

AUBURN – Robin Dow Senior Citizens will meet Wednesday, July 11, at the Alden M. Gayton Post 31, American Legion, 426 Washington St., for the annual summer picnic.

Members should bring their own cups. Doors will open at 9 a.m. and coffee and doughnuts will be served in the morning. The luncheon will include hot dogs and hamburgers. There will be no raffle table.

Volunteers are being sought to assist in cooking and cleaning up. There will be a “bonus” bingo following lunch, and prior to that members will furnish their own cards and other games they would like to play throughout the day.

The group met June 27 with 58 members present, under the direction of Merry Strout, president. Those having birthdays in June were acknowledged, with Lee Koss the only member present having a birthday in June.

It was reported that all those who attended the trip to Foster’s Clam Bake, York, on June 22 enjoyed it, and the trip was most successful. Plans are under way for a foliage trip in the fall and trip chairwoman Evelyn Sawin is open for suggestions and ideas for destinations. People may see Sawin at Robin Dow meetings or phone her at 998-4577.

Attendance prize winners were Anna Gavel and Leone Ford; pot of gold, Shirley Huntley, Betty Hebert and Edward Laine.
