Roger Emile Roy


Lewiston – Roger E. Roy, 78, of Auburn passed away on April 24, after a short battle with cancer at the St. Marguerite d’Youville Pavilion with his loving family by his side.

He was born on Oct. 22, 1927, a son of the late George and Anna (Flynn) Roy. He was educated in the Auburn schools, and then went off to serve his country in the United States Navy during World War II. After returning from the war, he went to work for Superior Concrete for more than 40 years and then went to work for Pioneer Plastics for five years.

On June 10, 1950, he married the love of his life and his best friend, Jeannette (Beaule) Roy. Together they have been happily married for 56 years.

He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post in Auburn, and the Auburn Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed working around his house and doing the yard work, walking, camping and traveling. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family, mainly with his granddaughter and great-grandson.

He is survived by his loving wife, Jeannette Roy of Auburn; his son, Ronald “Ron” Roy and wife, Laura, of Wilson, Wyo.; a daughter, Linda Timmer and husband, Jeff, of Ft. Myers, Fla.; his granddaughter, Sarah J. Baril; great-grandson, Kalib Ouellette; three brothers, Leo Roy and wife, Margaret, Raymond Roy and wife, Marlene, Bert and wife, Mickey; a sister, Rita Bernier and husband, Roger; a sister in-law, Phebe Roy; two brothers-in-law, John Dyer and Fern Theriault; a special sister and brother in-law, Armand and Lucille Arsenault; a special cousin, Richard Boulet and wife, Tina; as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents; two brothers, Eugene “Gene” Roy and Gerald “Jerry” Roy; and three sisters, Annette Thompson, Irene Dyer and Yvette Theriault.
