LEWISTON — Romeo R. LeBlond, 95, of 6 DeForge St., Lewiston, died Thursday, May 6, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center.
He was born in Auburn, June 20, 1914, the son of Ronaldo and Regina Leclair LeBlond. In 1936, he married the former Lillian Cote, who passed away in 1952. In 1957, he married the former Justine Gagnon, and they made their home in Lewiston.
Prior to his retiring at the age of 62, he was employed for many years as a frame fixer at the Continental Mill. A member of Holy Family Church, Prince of Peace Parish, he was also a member of the Ordre des Forestiers Franco-Américains, loved to fish, and was a life-long aviation buff and over the years built many model airplanes.
Besides his loving wife of Lewiston, he is survived by a son, Gerard and wife, Diane, of Lewiston; two stepdaughters, Rita Fitzsimmons of Auburn and Cecile and husband, Clifford Levesque, of Gardiner; a sister, Jacqueline LeBlond of Lewiston; two grandchildren, Randy LeBlond and Angela and husband, Donnie Kerns; and two great-grandchildren, Kendra and Paige.
Besides his parents and first wife, he was predeceased by a daughter, Anita Beaucage in 1998; two sisters, Florence Jourdain in 1986 and Therese Caron in 2008; and a great-granddaughter, Kiana in 2007.
