JAY — Ronald James Sencabaugh, 72, of Jay, passed away late Tuesday evening, April 25, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born Nov. 9, 1944, in Gardiner, the son of James Franklin Sencabaugh and Alice Mae (Shea) Sencabaugh Flagg. He attended school in Gardiner and Jay. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy as a machinist mate on the USS Davis during the Vietnam War. In 1964, he married Jeanne Duguay and they had two children, Scott and Kristen Sencabaugh. Ron was a member of the Frank L. Mitchell VFW Post 3335 and Hillside Sports Club, all in Jay. Ron worked as a finish carpenter, he was known for his exceptional eye for detail and the pride he took in his work. He enjoyed going to car shows and owned a sweet, 1932 blue Ford pickup truck that you frequently saw around town. He also enjoyed going to lawn sales, photography, music, (especially the blues), reading and Facebook. More than anything, Ron loved spending time with his family.
