AUBURN – Auburn Suburban Major Softball: Rotary defeated Pepsi on the arm of Kristen Whitaker, who struck out 14 over five innings. Amanda Turcotte led the offense for Rotary, going 4-for-4 with a grand slam and a double. Kayla Nadeau reached base safely in all five plate appearances. Emily Johnson and Kelsey Butcher each scored two runs for Pepsi, while Mariah Mosher provided outstanding defense behind the plate … 99 Restaurant topped Pepsi, 22-8. Mary Caron pitched five strong innings to pick up the win. Caron and McKenzie Sullivan led the 99 offense, scoring four runs apiece. Sullivan stroked a pair of triples. Taylor Roy also triggered a key double play in the third to end a potential Pepsi rally. Miranda Casey paced Pepsi with a home run and two singles, whiel McKenzie Roy also drove in a pair of runs.
LEWISTON – Minor Division: United downed Wendy’s, 9-6. Ty Murphy stroked two singles for United. Jacob Cloutier clouted two singles and drew a walk for Wendy’s, while Julian Smedley smacked a double and a single … Dube took a 23-9 decision from Hannaford. Ben Wigant and Cam Bussiere combined for 11 strikeouts in the pitching victory. Wigant’s four hits included a home run, and he drove in six runs. Bussiere belted three hits and four RBIs. Bruan Wigant scored five runs and slapped a pair of hits, and Alex Gregoire alsowas a repeat hitter. Matt Poto poked three hits for Hannaford.
Major Division: D.R. Poussard Construction defeated Aubuchon Hardware, 12-7, and Hanley Associates, 14-1. Morin pitched three innings and recorded six strikeouts for Poussard in the first win, whiel Madden homered. Brian Hall and Jesse Leeman led the hit parade for Aubuchon.
LEWISTON – Minor Division: Lewiston Firefighters topped Lewiston PAL, 15-12. Lukas Ongley was the winning pitcher. Terance Landry made the defensive grab to end the game. Jonathan Waterman rapped a pair of hits and coaxed a walk.
