Rotary Club hosting team from France

LEWISTON – The Lewiston-Auburn Rotary Club will host a Rotary International Group Study Exchange from France Thursday through Sunday, May 25 to 28.

On Thursday the group will make a PowerPoint presentation of their travels to the Lewiston-Auburn Rotary Club at the noon luncheon at the Ramada Inn. Sens. Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins and Congressman Mike Michaud will send representatives from their offices to welcome the team.

The team arrived at the Quebec, Canada, Airport on May 1 and spent some time in the northern part of Rotary’s District 7790, visiting several clubs in the area. The team was met by Lewiston-Auburn Rotarian and GSE Coordinator Sylvia Plourde and Rotarian Claire Veilleux on May 13 at Northern Outdoors in the Forks and taken to the Bangor Rotary Club.

The team gave a presentation at the district’s annual conference in Bar Harbor last weekend.

On Friday, May 26, the French delegation will have a tour of the L-A Museum followed by a piano recital by international pianist George Lopez at the Franco-American Heritage Center. The group will be treated to dinner and entertainment at the Midnight Blues Caf where all local Rotarians are welcome to join. The group will then retire to the homes of their local Rotarian host families for a weekend of activities with their respective hosts.
