AUBURN— Concerts for a Cause, the new concert series at the First Universalist Church, Unitarian Universalist of Auburn, will host singer-songwriter, lecturer, and cultural ambassador Reggie Harris at 7:30 p.m., Friday, April 7.
Dave Rowe, Maine’s own esteemed folk singer-songwriter Dave Rowe, play an opening set for Harris.

Steeped in the tradition of African American spirituals, folk, gospel, rock, and the music of civil and human rights, Harris is widely recognized as a vibrant force in the acoustic music and in educational and historical circles.

“I’m very excited about this concert,” shared Rowe. “I have long admired Reggie’s message and song-craft, and can’t wait to share the stage with a man who is truly a gentle giant on the national folk music scene.”

Rowe, son of the late Tom Rowe from Schooner Fare,  grew up in Auburn, but has traveled extensively bringing his own brand of folk music and gentle humor to audiences around the U.S.

This concert will help raise money to support the Trinity Jubilee Center: a nonreligious organization located in the heart of downtown Lewiston,. The Center’s five programs, the meals program, food pantry, day shelter, resource center, and refugee integration program, serve more than 1,000 people every week.
Tickets for this concert are $15 in advance or $18 at the door. To purchase tickets or FMI:  http://www.uuconcerts.org or call the church 207-783-0461.
