LIVERMORE FALLS — RSU 73 directors voted Thursday to approve a contract with Bunker & Savage Architects of Augusta in regard to building an addition and renovating the high school in Jay.
The board approved spending up to $24,000 and requested the contract be broken into phases of work to be done, Superintendent Robert Wall said Monday. The company has been working with the district since the onset of the project.
The contract would cover meeting with the Building Committee to assist in preparation of documents to request proposals of the design/building qualifications of the new addition/renovations at the Spruce Mountain High School North Campus. The company listed a variety of services they would provide and tasks they would do under the agreement.
The school board’s Building Addition Subcommittee will hold its first meeting at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 15, in the library of the Jay high school. The plan is to tour the high school and middle school in Jay. The committee will make a recommendation to the board’s facility committee on the scope of the project and what size addition is needed.
A referendum on building an addition will be held Tuesday, May 8, in Livermore, Livermore Falls and Jay. A public hearing on the proposal will be held Tuesday, April 24.
