FARMINGTON – Rubena “Beanie” Cook, 79, of Farmington, died late Sunday, April 30, at Franklin Memorial Hospital after a short illness, surrounded by her loving family.

Beanie was born July 9, 1926, in Lithium, Mo., a daughter of Sam and Beulah (Preston) Schulte. She graduated from Perryville High School in Perryville, Mo., and Rubicon Business College in St. Louis.

She married Kenneth “Bud” Cook on April 5, 1947 at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base Chapel in Dayton, Ohio. She worked as a secretary for three years in the Officers’ Branch at the base and after moving to Maine, was employed by Forster Manufacturing Co. as an executive secretary, where she was in charge of the typing pool. She retired in 1991 after 41 years of service.

She enjoyed gardening, was an avid reader and loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Bud; her son, Randy and his wife, Lynn, of Farmington; grandsons, Ryan and Tomie Cook; daughter-in-law, Julie Cook of Bonita Springs, Fla.; and a sister, Barbara Schulte of Perryville, Mo.

She was predeceased by a son, Brad in 2004; and a brother, William.
