MEXICO — Ruth Theriault, 82, of Mexico passed away peacefully at her summer home Sunday, June 18, with her loving family by her side.

She was born Feb. 11, 1935, in Mexico the daughter of Charles Cecil Rumley and Nettie (Mowat) Rumley. Ruth was educated in Mexico schools and graduated in the Class of 1952.

Ruth enjoyed spending the summers at the family lake house on Roxbury Pond, making many happy memories with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved hummingbirds, owls, knitting, watching “Wheel of Fortune,” and cooking shows. Ruth was an excellent cook.

Ruth is survived by her three children, daughter Deborah Dorr and her husband, Jack, of Rumford and sons David Theriault and wife, Kathleen, of Hartford and Daniel Theriault and partner, Taryn Schulman, of Reno, Nev.; her sister, Joyce Peters and husband, Gregory, of Benton; grandchildren Jack Dorr and fiancee, Shayleigh Martinosky, of Aurora, Colo., Megan Dorr Daniello and husband, Eric, of Thomaston, Bailey Theriault of Boulder, Colo., Katie Hicks and husband, Dylan, of Sumner and Kevin Capponi and wife, Kayla, of Rumford; great-grandchildren Caleb and Ethan Dorr of Aurora, Colo., Aden and Zachary Daniello of Thomaston, Ices and Josiah Lobato of Centennial, Colo., Gunnar Hicks of Sumner and Kamber Capponi of Rumford; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents, Charles Cecil and Nettie Mowat Rumley; her sister, Jeannettie Rumley Gaudin; her brothers, Robert and Cecil Rumley; her granddaughter, Amy Jo Dorr, daughter-in-law Deb Harting Theriault, and special companion, Clayton Campbell.

Ruth’s family would like to thank the nurses and aides from Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice who made it possible for her to remain in her home her last few days. Their professionalism, respect, and their loving care were remarkable and so appropriate for such a sweet lady.

The best way Ruth would wish others to remember her by is to strive to live life as she did: accepting of others, doing the best you can with whatever life hands you, and always think the best of everyone.
