SAD 21 calls meeting for school budget vote

DIXFIELD – A special SAD 21 meeting has been scheduled for Monday, May 1, to vote on the proposed $9.84 million school budget, Superintendent Thomas Ward said Tuesday afternoon.

Directors were scheduled to vote on it at Monday night’s meeting but ran out of time, Ward said.

Directors will also vote on the budget warrant at the same meeting.

Additionally, the SAD 21 teachers union Cancardix will vote in late April on whether to switch insurance coverage carriers from Aetna Insurance Co. to Anthem Insurance Co. Ward said that switching to less costly Anthem would impact the proposed school budget by allowing directors to possibly restore several thousand dollars worth of pared department requests.
