FARMINGTON — The Farmington Farmers Market group has opened a new farmers market that will run from 8 a.m. to noon each Saturday until October. The market is located in front of the state’s regional office building and courthouse at the corner of Main and Park streets.
The market is distinct from the Tuesday and Friday farmers markets run by the Sandy River Farmers Market, though many vendors are the same.
Eleven farmer-vendors have already signed up to sell at the new market. Products include vegetables; herbs; salad greens; baked goods; honey; hand cream and other hive products; Maine-made maple syrup; locally-raised beef, pork, veal, chicken, lamb and turkey; milk and cheeses; jams, jellies and other preserves; cut flowers; unique handmade wreaths; balsam pillows and wooden bowls and other locally made gift products; plants, shrubs and flowers; and vegetable, flower and herb seedlings.
