Search broadens for high school principal

LIVERMORE FALLS — Regional School Unit 36 will open up its search for high school principal to candidates outside the district.

The school board had previously voted to conduct an in-house search for hiring, but the only candidate to apply withdrew, Superintendent Judith Harvey said Monday.

If an internal candidate was not found, then the board agreed to broaden the search.

Directors had hoped to have an in-house candidate to act on at their 6 p.m. Thursday, May 13 meeting at the Cedar Street Learning Complex.

Harvey plans to post an advertisement for the position on Monday, she said.

A search committee for the position consists of a board and a parent representative and support staff and administrators.

Current high school Principal Shawn Lambert has taken a job with another school district effective July 1.
