Senior center lists summer activities


RUMFORD — The Rumford Senior Center will continue bingo games, coffee breaks and trips throughout the summer.

The coffee breaks are held from 9 to 11 a.m. every Monday.

Other activities include:

Thursday, May 13, trip to Portland for shopping. Cost is $5. The bus will leave at 8:30 a.m.

Friday, May 14, trip to the Public Theater in Lewiston to see “Southern Comfort.” The bus will leave at 4:30 p.m. Dinner, at own cost, will be at the New China Super Buffet. The show will start at 8 p.m. The cost is $35.

Wednesday, May 19, business after hours event, 5:30 to 7 p.m., at the center.


Saturday, June 5, special bingo. The game will start at noon and go until the prizes are gone. Donations are welcome for prizes.

Thursday, June 10, trip to Hollywood Slots, Bangor. The bus will leave the center at 8 a.m. The cost is $25.

Friday, June 25, TRIAD picnic. The bus is filling up and people are encouraged to sign up soon. The Oxford County Sheriff’s Department sponsors the annual event for senior citizens of Oxford County. The bus will leave the center at 8:30 a.m.

A three-day trip is being planned to Foxwoods in September. The cost is $249 each person, double occupancy. For those who do not want to gamble or play bingo, there will be a shopping trip to a mall in the area. A $20 deposit is required at sign up. Payment in full must be paid by Aug. 11. Forty people are needed to make the trip.
