I was disappointed to learn that the senior citizens of Lewiston will be unable to meet at the Multi-Purpose Center after June.
That has been a place where seniors could meet friends, play games and cards and have their lunch.
The city needs to save some money, so will move the seniors’ meeting place to the Lewiston Armory on Central Avenue. Unfortunately, there are no parking spaces when school is in session. Also, the distance from the street entails considerable walking to get into the building.
Lewiston’s senior citizens have lived and supported this community for many years. Is the change so necessary that the seniors need to lose a meeting place that has been so important in our lives for so many years?
