Seniors to meet


DIXFIELD – Neighborly Senior Citizens will meet at 11 a.m. today at the Dixfield Legion. The meeting will be followed by a potluck luncheon and beano.

Payment for the June 4 trip to Indian Head is due. Space is still available for the June 30 TRIAD picnic and the July 14 Cabbage Island trip. Cyr Bus Line is used for all trips.

For more information, call Connie at 364-4189. Membership in the Neighborly Senior Citizens is open to anyone age 50 and over. Dues remain at $5 a year. Officers for this year are Connie Tutlis, president; Marge Harlow, vice president; Carol Gallant, secretary; and Larry Kerr, treasurer.

Meeting postponed

RUMFORD – The informational meeting of the Catholic Parishes of the River Valley and Bethel area, scheduled for Sunday, May 21, has been postponed to a later date in June.

Club notice

MEXICO – The Mexico Trailblazers Snowmobile Club will meet at 7 p.m. today at the Mexico Town Hall.

Class luncheon

RUMFORD – The members of the Stephens High School Class of 1949 will meet for a luncheon at 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 24, at the River Valley Grill.

Society supper

MEXICO – The Mexico Historical Society will meet at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 23, at the Wills Museum, 3 Oxford St.

The group will be served a bean supper with strawberry shortcake for dessert. The meal will be prepared by Calvin Lyons, Connie Tutlis, Carol Gallant, Marge Harlow and Ethel Gordon.

The speaker will be Patty Duguay of the Rumford Valley Healthy Community Coalition. Her topic will be “Household Hazardous Waste Collections.”

The museum is open from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The public is invited to see all the group has accomplished in the past few months.
