Seniors plan meal


LIVERMORE FALLS – The Livermore Falls-Jay Senior Citizens met at Murray Hall on April 24 with 33 members present. Prior to the meeting, the SeniorsPlus meal of beef stroganoff, rice, peas, bread and peaches was served. Chairwoman Shirley Couture opened the meeting and Mary Groleau led in singing “Joyful, Joyful We Adore Thee.”

The sick list included Sybil Bailey, who broke her shoulder and is recuperating at a rehabilitation center in New Hampshire, and Jim Miller, who had a heart attack and is back in the hospital.

Couture said there will be a meeting at the Treat Memorial Library from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. Thursday, May 4, regarding information on the new prescription drug plan.

The Parkview Living Center will have a meal for seniors at 11:15 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 2. Anyone interested in attending should call 897-2800 for a reservation.

Members sang “Happy Birthday” to those who celebrated their birthday in April, including Blanche Newell, Jeannette Pomerleau, Yvette Cloutier, Zeke Richards, Marie Gagnon, Dora Slovak and Theresa Chaddon.

May 22 will be the last meeting before the summer hiatus and there will be a catered meal. Sign-up for the meal is under way. The 50/50 was won by Lois Gordon. The meeting adjourned and cards and games were played.
