Septic supply store opens up

FARMINGTON – Complete Septic Solutions, Farmington’s first septic supply store, opened last week on Route 4 in the old Nichols Trailers building.

Owner and SAD 58 school board member Mike Pond had “been thinking and dreaming” of opening a store catering to area contractors, said his wife, Sheila Pond, Friday. A system installer himself, Mike Pond thought it would be nice to be able to purchase the materials needed to set up and service septic systems in town, rather than driving nearly an hour to a bigger store, or having to send away and pay high shipping costs.

“He’s been in the excavation business a good 20-plus years,” Sheila Pond said, and knows what folks putting in septic systems need. In addition to the obvious – the tanks and the pipes – the store also sells fittings, infiltrators, and other odds and ends. Complete Septic Solutions also rents portable toilets and pump septic tanks. “I don’t do it,” Sheila Pond laughed, he “does it.”

With his experience in excavation, Mike is also available to give advice or walk people through the steps involved in putting in and caring for a septic system. “It’s a one-stop shop for septic” equipment, his wife said.
