Seth Michael Moat


WINDHAM – Seth Michael Moat, 28, died April 26 at his childhood home in Windham, of metastatic melanoma.

He was born in Portland, April 20, 1978, the son of Russell Moat of Poland and Elizabeth Ann Swisko of Windham.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his stepfather, Michael A. Swisko; his stepmother, Qing Mei Zheng; his fiance, Brie Burbank of Wolfeboro, N.H.; his brother, Joshua E. Moat and his wife, Dr. Megan Clark, of Newmarket, N.H.; and his sister, Taysa K. Sisko of Boston.

He was diagnosed with melanoma in 1998. He became a massage therapist after completing a year of interferon therapy. He was a wonderful cook and had worked for many years at Charlie Beigg’s Restaurant in Windham. He was most recently employed at Poplar Springs Spa in Casanova, Va., as a massage therapist. He enjoyed playing guitar, riding his motorcycle, working on cars, reading and learning new things.

He touched many lives and was an inspiration of strength and courage to those he loved. Seth’s family gratefully acknowledges the wonderful staff at Dr. Fred Aronson’s office and especially the staff of Hospice of Southern Maine.
