Twenty-two teams competed during the three-round fundraiser. The “Scramblers,” pictured here lost this first round to the “Scrabble Babblers” 199-155. The Comeau’s mother, Noreen, was the fourth member of their team. Tahlia Hope, executive director of Literacy Volunteers, said that at least $5,500 was raised at the event. The winner of the pro category was “The Letters,” consisting of Mike, Muriel, Jared and Roger Guirardin, along with Pat Roy. The winner of the social category was the “Gummi Bears,” consisting of Dan Moreno, Judy and Peter Letourneau and Sandy Nyberg, all of Auburn.
