LEWISTON – Shirley Iris (Moores) Breton, 90, of Auburn died suddenly Saturday, May 27, at Central Maine Medical Center.

She was born in Lewiston, April 22, 1916, the daughter of Aubrey and Josephine (Damon) Moores. She graduated from Clinton High School in Clinton in 1935. She went on to the Central Maine Medical Center School of Nursing, where she graduated as a registered nurse in 1938. She worked for several private physicians before settling at CMMC, where she worked until semi-retiring, then going on to work private duty nursing before fully retiring at 72. She was a member of CMMC Nurses Association and the Court Street Baptist Church. Her hobbies included ceramics, knitting, making of latch hook rugs and gardening.

Survivors include a daughter, Joanne (Breton) Williams of Ashland, Mass.; a son, Jeffrey L Breton and his wife, Carol, of Auburn; a daughter, Cheryl (Breton) Pelletier and her husband, Phil, of Sabattus; a brother, Malcolm Moores and his wife, Karen, of Hollywood, Fla.; one sister, Edwina Bonney of Turner; nine grandchildren, Todd Breton, Michael Williams, Stacey Williams, Matthew Williams, Tarnya (Pelletier) Constantino, Ronald Breton, Cheryl Breton, Pamela Morin and Jeffrey Breton II; eight great-grandchildren, Andrew Breton, Thomas Brown, Sandra Brown, Brad Breton, Megan Breton, Chad Dwyer, Nathan Morin, and Brianna Breton; and nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Leon Alfred Breton in 1949; three brothers, Damon Moores, David Moores, and infant brother, Charlie Moores; and two infant grandchildren, Jason Williams and Eric Williams; her companion, Clyde Harding; and a son, Steven Breton.
