Sidney man pleads guilty to sex trafficking charge

AUGUSTA (AP) — One of two men charged with sex trafficking for allegedly running an escort service out of their Sidney home has pleaded guilty.

Frederick Horne Jr. was fined $1,000 on Monday in Kennebec County Superior Court for the misdemeanor offense.

The Kennebec Journal ( ) reported that the 20-year-old Horne and his father, Frederick Horne Sr., were both charged after at least six women were found at their home during a raid in April. The women were not charged.

Prosecutors say the home was the site of the Adam & Eve Escort Service, which advertised online and in the newspaper.

The elder Horne has said he did nothing wrong and was just renting rooms to the women. He has pleaded not guilty to sex trafficking and drug charges.
