Nurse Appreciation Week was May 6-12. Since nurses don’t usually blow their own horn, perhaps I can do a little of that for them, as I once had a sister who was a registered nurse back in the days when nurses wore white caps with black stripes.
Night and day, seven days a week, 365 days a year (including holidays), nurses (and nurses’ aides) go about their assigned rounds, ministering to the sick and even the terminally ill, with the same professional and dedicated care given to each and every one of the many patients entrusted to their care.
I am especially thankful for the many expressions of kindness and sympathy from the nurses as I kept my sister company before her passing. I am sure that anyone else would find that same devotion to duty wherever nurses are present.
