On behalf of the letter carriers of Branch 241, National Association of Letter Carriers, I would like to thank everyone who took the time to gather and place food by their mailboxes on May 8.
On that day, the letter carriers of Branch 241 in Lewiston, along with carriers across the nation, collected food for their local food banks to feed the hungry and less fortunate.
The letter carriers in Lewiston collected a total of 7,500 pounds of canned and dry goods that were donated to the Good Shepherd Food-Bank. Despite this trying economy, that was a record number of pounds collected.
We are sincerely grateful for the generosity shown by our customers.
