RUMFORD — Le Paresseux Club will hold its annual St. Patrick’s outing on Saturday and Sunday, March 13 and 14, at the club, 227 Waldo St.
The club will open at 1 p.m. Saturday and a fraternal union meeting will be held at 2. A corned beef and ham supper will be served from 5 to 6 p.m. for $7 a person and $3 for ages 12 and under. Sammie Angle will play from from 7 to 11 p.m.
Sunday events will begin at 9 a.m. when a parade will line up in front of Thibeault Funeral Home, Penobscot Street. Members who cannot march will be able to ride in cars that will follow behind the marching units.
The parade will depart at 9:10 for Mass at 9:30 at Parish of The Holy Savior Church (St. Athanasius- St John’s Church). The group will reassemble for a parade to the club at 10:20 a.m. A meat loaf dinner will be served at noon at the club. Cost will be $4 a person and $2 for age 12 and under. Parade awards will be presented at 2 p.m.
All king, queen, prince and princess candidates from the 2010 International Snowshoe Championship held in Lewiston are welcome to take part in the parade and will be escorted as a group into the church.
Awards will be given for the following: drum corps, twirling majorette, color guard and most numerous from the United States and Canada.
