New Gloucester Fire Rescue held an open house on Oct. 8 to observe Fire Prevention Week Oct. 5 to 11. The theme was “Working Smoke Detectors Saves Lives.” New Gloucester Fire Chief Gary Sacco is pictured with live-in student Sean Tourigny, dressed as “Sparky the Fire Dog.” Drawings were held to win free smoke detectors throughout the evening. There was a car fire demonstration, and a barbecue was held.
