Spring Seminar in Gardening planned in Turner

TURNER — The Turner Public Library’s sixth annual Spring Seminar in Gardening will take place Saturday, April 15, in the community room of the Leavitt Institute Building in Turner Center. 

The seminar starts at 9 a.m. with free coffee and donuts as well as sign up for the door prizes donated by Turner businesses. The peakers at 9:30 a.m. are Edith Ellis and Amy LeBlanc.

Ellis, a Maine certified nursery and landscape professional, owned and operated Sunnyside Gardens for 25 years. Her presentation is entitled “Color, Texture and Plant Placement in the Perennial Border.”

LeBlanc of Whitehill Farm in East Wilton is a longtime MOFGA farmer. The talk is a entitled “Fabulous Tomatoes from the Garden to the Table.”

The seminar will conclude with a round-table discussion, a lunch, which will cost $7 per person, and a sale of farm broducts.

Proceeds will benefit the Turner Public Library.
