St. Dom’s will present ‘Our Town’

AUBURN – The Saint Dominic Regional High School Drama Society will present its spring theatrical production of Thornton Wilder’s “Our Town” May 12 and 13 at the school.

The story is told in episodic fashion by the Stage Manager (played by Benny Salzberg), and centers around George Gibb (PJ Koroski), son of Dr. and Mrs. Gibb (Jamie Donahue and Katie St. Pierre) and Emily Webb (Whitney Danse), daughter of Mr. and Mrs.Webb (Kyle Levasseur and Stephanie Matthews).

George and Emily attend high school together, fall in love over sodas at the corner drugstore and get married. Emily dies during the birth of their second child. She discovers how painful a return to living is, when one walks among those who take the beauties of life for granted.

Audience members also meet many townspeople and learn of their lives and dreams set off against a background of social, philosophical and religious tradition. Town members include David Chamberlain as Professor Willard; Chelsea Grant as Rebecca Gibbs; Doug Grant as Wally Webb; Jonathan Kuhl as Joe Stoddard; Richard Lamarre as Joe and Si Crowell; Samantha Laverdière as a choir member and one of the deceased; Joel Lyon as Constable Bill Warren; Linette Mailhot as a choir member and one of the deceased; Joel Martin as Sam Craig; Vincent Noori as Farmer McCarthy; Josh Oliver as Simon Stimson; Justin Richardson as Howie Newsome; and Laura Robitzek as Mrs. Soames.
