St. Marguerite will be ‘food for thought’

LEWISTON — The Senior College “Food for Thought” luncheon program series at USM/Lewiston-Auburn on Friday, May 14, will feature a presentation by Dale Morrell entitled “Dreams of Mercy, Dreams of Love”.

The subject of the program is St. Marguerite d’Youville and will relate how her order of Grey Nuns affected communities by their commitment to reaching the poor and disadvantaged, and how the founder’s legacy still exists in St. Mary’s Health System.

Morrell has served as the director of education at St. Mary’s since 1995 and coordinates orientation for all employees, and has created a program that focuses on the life, history and impact of St. Marguerite. He is also an adjunct faculty member for the College of Nursing and Health Professionals at CMMC where he teaches bioethics.

The Senior College, now in its 11th year, presents the monthly noon program in the Function Room 170 at USM-LAC. The cost, which includes lunch, is $7 with advance reservation or $8 at the door, opening at 11:30 a.m. Reservations must be made no later than noon Thursday, May 13, by phone at 753-6510. Late callers will be considered as at the door.
