AUGUSTA, Maine (AP) — The Maine Human Rights Commission has ruled that a middle school discriminated against a sixth grader by not letting the male-to-female transgender student use the girls' bathroom.
The parents of the child, who no longer attends school in the district, wrote to the commission that she experienced anxiety and depression during the 2008-2009 year after Orono Middle School officials forced her to use a gender-neutral bathroom and her peers picked on her.
The school stated the district trained the staff, educated students, gave the transgender student her own bathroom and locker, and met with her parents.
The Bangor Daily News reports the district is fighting a lawsuit filed by the child's family in Penobscot County Superior Court.

Sexuality is a VERY very simple issue, isn't it?
If you make it seem simple, the issue will be easy to deal with. But then only by luck will it be handled in the best possible way. But Sexuality is NOT a simple issue. The Devil is in the details. But then God is in the details too.

The Commission ruling is bias in my opinion. The school did the proper thing in having the child use a gender neutral bathroom. Despite the parents claims regarding the child's sexual orientation, they can not let a physically male body use the female bathroom. All parents of girls that attend would be upset. Transgender mental state does not change the biological fact of the child.
Transgenderism exhibited at such a young age is also up for debate amongst all mental health workers, so this case appears extremely biased.

If this doesn't give you an idea of the direction in which this country of our's is going then nothing will. If the family win's this lawsuit I hope they leave Maine let alone the school district.
