Stephen A. Woodcock

WILTON – Stephen “Steve” Alexander Woodcock, 54, of Wilton, died in the comfort of his home surrounded by family on Saturday evening, Jan. 13.

He will be remembered for his optimism and courage in facing cancer and for his encouragement to family and friends to be tested for colon cancer.

He was born Oct. 22, 1952, in Farmington, a son of Bertram A. and Theone R. “Sue” (Fernald) Woodcock.

He graduated in 1971 from Mt. Blue High School and on Oct. 15, 1977, married Pamela Wells in Wilton.

He easily and happily became an instant member of his wife’s large family.

From 1971 until 1997, he was employed at Knowlton McCleery Printing Co., Farmington and from 1997 until 2003, owned Wilton Printed Products.

He enjoyed stock car racing and was an avid NASCAR fan. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting, swimming, boating and tubing with his sons and enjoying family and friends at camp.

From Steve’s point of view, a stranger was only a friend that he had yet to meet.

He is survived by his wife, Pam, of Wilton; his mother, Theone “Sue” Woodcock of Farmington; three sons, Shain Woodcock of Industry, Scott Woodcock and his wife, Jessie, of Livermore, and Sam Woodcock of Farmington; his brother, Chandler Woodcock and his wife, Charlotte “Charlie” of Farmington; his sister, Nancy Keirnan and her husband, Jim, of Farmington; his father-in-law, Adrian “Butch” Wells Sr., of Wilton; several nieces, nephews, and great-nephews; and of course, his dog, Sweet Chocolate Delight, known as “Sweetie.”

He was predeceased by his dad.
