LEWISTON — Stewart W. Dunn Sr., 48, of Dixfield, died suddenly Monday, April 19, while recovering from surgery and battling a long and courageous battle with cancer.
He was born in Greeneville, N.C., where he lived for first five years of his life. He grew up in Leeds/Greene area and attended school at Leeds Central and Leavitt Area High School, obtaining his GED through Lewiston High School.
He enjoyed playing pool, working on car models, playing video games and collecting movies. He always took time to work on and replenish his 1995 Ford F-150, nicknamed “Red Baron.” He worked at Dingley Press until 2008, when he was diagnosed with cancer.
He is survived by his three children, Sabrina Nixon of Belmont Comer, Cassandra Thuotte of Lisbon and Stewart Dunn Jr. of Kezar Falls; his cat, Babycakes of 15 years. He was the son of Patricia Harvey and stepfather, Edward Harvey. He will be missed by four siblings and their families which include brother, Norman Dunn and wife, Rose of Burlington, two older sisters, Kim Anderson and husband, Bob of Dixfield and Charlotte Wainer and husband, Mark, of Auburn, and a younger sister, Monterey Dunn of Killeen, Texas. He has two aunts and two uncles and many nieces, nephews and cousins who will miss him as well.
He was predeceased by father, Milton Earl Dunn of Greeneville, N.C.
He was a very gentle and lovable person and would assist anyone in a time of need and will greatly missed by those who knew him well.
