Stolen truck found wrecked

LIVERMORE FALLS – A black pickup truck with two guns and ammunition in it was reported stolen late Tuesday and recovered early Wednesday after it was destroyed in an accident in Jay.

The truck went off Crash Road and hit some trees. The driver left the scene, Jay Police Chief Larry White Sr. said Wednesday.

The owner reported the truck stolen about 11:05 p.m. from Baldwin Street in Livermore Falls, police Chief Ernest Steward Jr. said Wednesday. The keys were in the 2002 GMC Z71, and it was reported to have a shotgun and a 7 mm rifle in it with ammunition, Steward said.

Livermore Falls police impounded the truck and are investigating the matter, Steward said.

The guns and ammunition were found to be still located in the truck.
