Berlin mayor helps chase robbers

Thursday, April 5, 2007

BERLIN, N.H. (AP) - Mayor Robert Danderson got in on the chase after two teens robbed a store this week.

The two made off with a large amount of cash Monday afternoon from Rudy's Market after swiping lottery money from a drawer under the cash register.

Danderson happened to be driving by when the store's co-owner, Midge Deblois, was chasing the robbers. The mayor jumped out of his pickup and chased the two down railroad tracks, but lost them.

Two suspects were arrested the next day in Vermont.
