LIVERMORE FALLS - Two Livermore Falls men were injured Monday night when a motorcycle and car collided head-on on Route 133 near Pike's Corner Oasis.

The motorcycle operated by Michael Marin, 42, pulled out of the entrance to Hunton Loop mobile home park and was heading toward Wayne when a Subaru Loyale driven by Kenneth Buck Jr., 26, traveling in the opposite direction took a left turn into Pike's Corner Oasis and turned in front of the motorcycle, Livermore Falls officer Ken Bryant said.

The motorcycle collided with the driver's side front of the car, and Marin was thrown more than 30 feet from impact into a ditch, Bryant said. The motorcycle also landed in a ditch, he said.

Marin, a volunteer firefighter, complained of hip and leg pain, Bryant said. He was not wearing a helmet but was conscious and alert and didn't appear to have any head injuries, he said.

According to emergency medical responders, Bryant said Marin appeared to have a severely dislocated ankle and other injuries.

Marin was flown to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, he said.

Buck complained of leg pain and had a laceration on his chin that appeared to require stitches, the officer said, but he refused transport by ambulance to a hospital. His father was expected to take him to the hospital, Bryant said.

Ambulances and medics from NorthStar Emergency Medical Services responded along with Livermore Falls firefighters. Bryant was assisted by officer Jason Miller.

The bike and the car appeared to be totaled, Bryant said.
