• Raymond Louis Stearns, 38, of 226 Blake St., on a charge of failing to register or update information, 4 p.m. Monday at that address.

• Christian Kaplinger, 36, of 148 Highland Ave. on a charge of violation of protective order, 9:11 p.m. Monday at 312 East Ave.

• Craig Bernard Felder, 35, of 32 Howe St. on a charge of operating without a license, 1:30 a.m. Tuesday at 17 Union St.

• David John Fraser, 25, of 125 Pierce St., criminal threatening and violating a protection from abuse order, 4:15 p.m. Tuesday at 771 Lisbon St.

Accidents
Lewiston

• Cars driven by Richard G. Hamann, 60, of Lewiston, and Walter W. Law, 66, of Auburn collided, 12:10 p.m. Monday at Pine and Blake streets. Damage to Hamann's 2007 Toyota was estimated at $1,000; to Law's 1996 Nissan, $1,500. It was towed.

• Vehicles driven by Mabel C. Zayka, 74, of Lewiston, and Jeanne W. Titus, 51, of Turner, collided, 2:20 p.m. Monday at Wal-Mart. Damage to Zayka's 1993 Buick was estimated at $1,200; to Titus' 1998 Chrysler, $1,500.

Again, this new trend of jeering at people charged with crimes is a very ugly development. A few days ago I mentioned it and the post was removed, but here we have 4, and I doubt all 4 will be coming back in to delete.

I believe the sun journal should get rid of the comments section anyway after each news story and police report.All it does is give those with negative thoughts and people with a bad attitude to voice their opinions.I believe in the old saying ""if you can't say anything good about someone it's better to keep your mouth closed""

I find it VERY amusing that people post rude comments, complaining about the fact that people post rude comments. That is the highest level of stupidity... must be coming from people with Kerry / Edwards bumperstickers still on their cars. Or from people who are listed in the above article.
