Woman recovering after stove explosion

WATERFORD - A woman was released from the hospital Wednesday after a morning explosion in her home that caused facial injuries.
Elaine Kimball of 45 Brown Hill Road, was lighting a ceramic propane heating stove when it exploded in her face, according to Jackie Rice, Kimball's daughter-in-law.
"She was very fortunate," Rice said. "It was minor injuries."
Rice said Kimball was using the stove as a secondary heating source.
Cuts and bruises
The Waterford Fire Department and Stoneham Rescue were dispatched to the scene, and Kimball was taken to Stephens Memorial Hospital.
Rice said Kimball suffered cuts and bruises to her face as well as a flash burn. She said the house was not damaged in the explosion.
"She's doing very, very well," Rice said. "She didn't require any stitches. |
