Chamber to hold brown bag event

Saturday, March 1, 2008

LEWISTON - The Androscoggin County Chamber of Commerce will host a brown bag roundtable discussion event for members on March 6, from noon to 1:15 p.m., at the chamber office, 415 Lisbon St.

Members bring their questions (and their lunch) and learn from other members by sharing information, knowledge and experiences through informal discussions.

Facilitators for the discussion are Paul and Deb Leonard of Mainely Technology who will present the topic "Why Does My Small Business Need a Web Site?"

Discussion will center on the importance of having a Web presence today, the difference between a Web designer and a Web developer, what to think about when putting together a Web site design, the importance of company branding on the Web, the pros and cons of do-it-yourself Web sites, Web hosting options, and search engine necessities.

The Leonards established Mainely Technology in 2005 to bring affordable Web services to small businesses and organizations.

Paul has more than 20 years experience in software development and Deb has a degree in business and handles the non-technical end of the business.

Registration is not required, however, a courtesy call to the chamber at 783-2249, or an e-mail to sschell@androscoggincounty.com to reserve a space would be appreciated.
