Society plans lectures

BETHEL - The Bethel Historical Society will offer a five-week educational program on New England history beginning next week.

The course will begin March 13 and run until April 10. All classes take place at 7:30 p.m. at the O'Neil Robinson House at 10 Broad St.

Topics include town characters, political figures, war, literature and the poor.

The classes will be taught by Stanley R. Howe, the society's executive director.

The cost of the course is $25 for nonmembers and $20 for members.

Registration will continue until March 13.
