PARIS - A man charged with burglarizing a store and home in Andover last summer pleaded guilty Monday to all charges.
Daniel T. Chenery, 20, of 475 East Andover Road in Andover, was indicted in August for burglary, criminal mischief, and theft and in November for burglary and theft.
Justice Roland A. Cole sentenced Chenery to six months in jail, with a consecutive fully suspended four-year prison sentence. Chenery must also serve two years of probation, refrain from using alcohol or illegal drugs, and attend substance abuse counseling.
According to an affidavit by Trooper Corey Smith of the Maine State Police, Chenery confessed to breaking into the Andover General Store on July 15 and making multiple trips to steal alcohol and cigarettes.
Chenery was also charged with breaking into an Andover residence on Sept. 19 and stealing an arc welder and reciprocating saw.
Chenery will be required to pay $1,134.58 in restitution in the home burglary and $738.65 in the store burglary. |

These people should be made to stand out on the street corner with a sign that says "theif" for a week. Its very sad that people steal having no respect for the people that they violate. I have been one of those that have seen first hand the hand of theives, even our germanshepard/newfoundland dog needed to be put to sleep from these men after they sprayed her with mace! 30 plus years later, we live in the fear that it will happen again. Amazingly, we never recieved a single gun or TV back from this terrible event.
Unless its you, there will never be any explination of the violation you will always feel. Teach your children how it feels to be the one stolen from, articles can be replaced, the feeling of being safe in your own house cannot. Don't expect your family pet to protect you either, these people are stepping into your safe heaven to act violent.

He broke into the store to steal alcohol and cigarettes, then broke into a residence to steal items that a hard working owner had purchased! As far as I'm concerned, this THIEF got a light sentence!
