BETHEL - Acclaimed photographer Victor Hart of Rockland's Senior College will present a travelogue of his many adventures in colder climates Thursday, April 3, at the Gehring House, 77 Broad St.

The program, titled "Into the Cold," will be presented from 4:30 to 6 p.m. as part of the "Down Home Maine" series started last year to bring unique, creative and adventurous Maine people to meet the public in an informal setting.

Hart, a retired lawyer, will give a digital presentation highlighting some of the adventures he and his wife experienced over the past 28 years. They trekked 180 miles in Nepal and climbed Kala Patar, a 19,000-foot peak next to Mount Everest. Later, they made two trips to Antarctica.

Recently, they traveled to the Arctic on an icebreaker out of the Svalbard Islands to within about 400 Miles of the North Pole. They have also trekked in Tibet, Patagonia and Peru - areas that will be covered in his presentation.

During his working years, Hart took a month off each year to travel.

The program is open to the public without charge; however, voluntary contributions are welcome to offset Senior College expenses. Refreshments of light hors d'oeuvres, wine and other beverages will be served. For more information, call Peter Gartner at 665-2181 or S. Lyon at 836-2576.
