Odyssey of the Mind
By Kaelina Perron

Wednesday, May 7, 2008
On Saturday, April 5, the Auburn Middle School, Odyssey of the Mind team competed in the state OM competition which included developing a solution to both a long-term creative challenge and a short-term spontaneous challenge. The OM team's challenge this year was called, "The Wonderful Muses." This particular problem consists of a muse inspiring two people during this team created performance; a historical person and a team-created person. In Greek Mythology muses were the source of all inspiration for the creative works of artist and scientists. Teams are used to think creatively and construct an original skit in all problems.
Our team, Kaelina Perron, Meaghan Mc Donough, Zachary Tannebaum, Megan Coddington, Auna O'Leary, Erin O'Leary, Lexi Clavet and Coach, Julie O'Leary, has finished in the top two of our division, placing second, achieving all our goals. Coming in second place, we are now heading towards OM world competition, raising money to compete in Maryland. Determined and prepared, we are thrilled to go against those all across the world in our problem, "The Wonderful Muses." |
