Geography Bee
Marina Affo
Grade 7
Lewiston Middle School
Wednesday, May 7, 2008
On Friday, April 4, Ron Eastman, an eighth grade student at Lewiston Middle School, came in 3rd place for the district geography bee. The bee was held at the University of Southern Maine, Portland campus. The geography bee is like a spelling bee only with geography questions. Ron was the first person from Lewiston Middle School to go to the district bee, and it is the farthest LMS has gone in the geography bee.
I sat down with Ron to discuss how the bee went. When asked if the questions were hard or easy, he said, " Some were hard and some were easy. They varied." He had not expected to do so well in the competition. He thought he was going to be eliminated in the first round. When asked how he prepared for the bee, he had said he hadn't really prepared.
Congratulations Ron Eastman for your 3rd place in the geography bee. |
