Not only is it time for a new president for the country but, it is also time for a new president for the Philip W. Sugg Middle School's Parent Action Group (P.A.G.). The P.A.G. has had the same president for the past three years but, it is time for a change because the current president is moving on to the high school, since both of her kids will be attending high school next year.

During this president's time with the P.A.G, the group has had many very successful programs, projects, and fundraisers. Two of the programs that were introduced were the Box Tops for Education and the Hannaford Dollars program. Some of the fundraisers they have held over the years were, a scrap booking day, a Red Sox ticket raffle, and selling concessions at many of the dances held each month at the school.

One of the things this president started, and that she liked the most, was the opening of the Snack Shack and running the program for the fall and spring sports season. Not only did she make money for the school, she was able to watch her kids participate in those sports. The P.A.G. also provides the concession for the bi-annual D.A.R.E. charity football game.

The money raised from all these things always went back to the kids and teachers at Philip W. Sugg Middle School. Some of the ways the money was spent was providing scholarships to Camp Kieve, providing breakfast and snacks to the students during M.E.A. testing, Celebrating Teacher Appreciation week, helping to buy cheering uniforms and buying the eighth grade class pizza on their last day of school, just to name a few.

When the next president is elected, this Advocate reporter feels they will have big shoes to fill, because I know how much time the president spends doing things for the school. The president that is stepping down is Karen Whitney. It was easy for me to write this article because Karen Whitney is my mother. And like any good reporter I've got my facts correct. I know that she will be missed and that she will be a great help to the high school.
