Wednesday, May 7, 2008

The Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope and Healing will present "A Plant-Based Diet: The New American Plate," the second installment of a cancer and nutrition workshop series, on May 8.

Oncology dietitian Ashley Whalen will discuss the "New American Plate," which is based on the American Institute for Cancer Research Guidelines.

This science-based approach to eating emphasizes foods that have been shown to significantly reduce risk for cancer and improve overall good health

The program will be offered from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in Conference Room H on the lower lever of the 12 High Street Medical Office Building in Lewiston.

The workshop is offered at no charge. Call 795-8250 or 1-877-DEMPCTR to register.
