Braves 5, Padres 4
Friday, May 9, 2008
ATLANTA (AP) - The Atlanta Braves completed a perfect homestand the hard way, taking their first one-run victory of the season in the bottom of the ninth.
Matt Diaz hit a bases-loaded single to drive in the winning run and the Braves beat the San Diego Padres 5-4 Thursday for their sixth straight win, all at home.
The Braves had been 0-9 in one-run games. They won despite trailing 4-1 after five innings.
The Padres, who lost their fourth straight, committed three errors that led to four unearned runs. |
