AVCOG's new Pink Tulip Garden was created in support of the Maine Cancer Society's "Pink Tulip Project" to promote early detection of breast cancer. Employees volunteered time and resources to design and plant 225 tulip bulbs in the garden. The project is important to employees because many have family or friends affected by breast cancer. The staffers plan to add pink annuals to keep the ribbon going throughout the summer. When Sarah Walton, center, learned AVCOG was going to plant the Pink Tulip garden she volunteered to help. Her mother Joan, second from left, is a cancer survivor. From left to right are Mary Lou Currier, Joan Walton, Kevin Nelson, Sue Martin, Jason Ready, Lisa Bonney, Ron McKinnon, Dina Jackson, Ferg Lea and Amy Landry. Absent for the photo were Robert Thompson, Barbara Fortier, Don Craig and Rose Creps.
