LIVERMORE FALLS - Frank S. "Butch" Bell Jr., 50, a resident of West Loop, Livermore Falls, died Wednesday, May 7, at home, after a long illness.

He was born Feb. 2, 1958, in Lewiston, the son of Frank S. Sr. and Nancy E. Thompson Bell. He attended Leavitt Area High School in Turner.

On May 7, 1977, in Monmouth, he and Kathy L. Mann were married. They would have celebrated their 31st anniversary on the day he died. Butch worked in construction, plumbing, and also loved to work on cars; he was really a jack-of-all-trades.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, stock car racing and building things out of nothing; he was an avid reader and liked to do genealogy. His hunting rifle belonged to his grandfather Bell, making him the third generation to hunt with that rifle.

He loved to joke around and tease people; he was known as a "Big Teddy Bear." He had a great smile and big blue eyes, he loved children, and was a great storyteller. He had many friends, loved to talk and everybody loved him.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy Bell, of Livermore Falls; his parents, Frank Sr. and Nancy Bell, of Harborside Cape Rosier in Brooksville; two daughters, Jennifer Lee-Anderson and her husband, Ryan, of Winthrop and Mercedes Anne Bell, of Livermore Falls; three sisters, Cheryl Bell and her husband, Philip Pollack, of Dallas, Ga., Sandra Rose and her husband, Dennis, of Greene and Shannon Cadman and her husband, Dave, of Greene; two brothers, John F. Bell and his wife, Claire, of Oxnard, Calif., and Tim Bell of Windham; a grand dog, Phoebe; a special nephew, Jeffrey Danforth, who was like a son; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins; and all the neighborhood kids who called him dad.
